Assalamu-alaykum,It’s me Amina.

I had a bit of a rough week because my dad took the stabilisers off my bike. He said “This is the best way to learn how to ride your bike.”

The problem was I kept falling off. I tried again and again but I fell every time. Then I scratched my knee on the ground which was really sore. I thought that’s it, I’ve had enough and I’m telling dad to put my stabilisers back on!”

When I got into the house Penpal asked me, “Aren't you supposed to be outside riding your bike?”

I told him, “I keep falling off and don't want to ride the stupid bike anymore!”

Penpal said, “We don't give up. It’s just not right!” then Penpal helped me.

Now I can ride the bike so quick. Penpal the slow coach can’t even keep up! Amina

It is a fact that we will face many difficult situations in our lives. It doesn't get easier when you grow up. These difficulties change but are always there.

Take the example of doing sums. Sometimes they are so hard and your brain begins to ache with all the working out. Once you practice the sums, they seem to get easier and before you know it, you have mastered it.

This is true for everything in life. If you find something difficult, you should never give up or lose heart. If you trust in Allah and keep going, you will one day be successful.

Islam is not about doing things the easy way but its about doing things the right way. If we keep trying really hard we will succeed. This was the character of the best teachers—the prophets and also the best of people—the Sahabah. So remember when the going gets tough , Muslims keep going.

The people of Makkah had not accepted Islam and were still worshiping idols. Many people from around Arabia would come to Makkah to worship these Idols.

Islam taught the people that Allah is one and that all forms of Idol worship is wrong. Islam taught the people about Allah; about good behaviour and character; and about truth and justice.

The Makkans knew that Islam was the truth but still tried every trick to stop people becoming Muslims. They made life very difficult for our Prophet (pbuh) and the Muslim community. They would invent lies about our prophet (pbuh) hoping that people would not trust our Prophet. They used to say that our Prophet (pbuh) was a magician and the words of the Qur’an were magic! They would meet people on the outskirts of Makkah and tell them to keep away from the Prophet (pbuh).

However, people still continued to accept Islam and the Makkans began to persecute the Muslims even more. Often they would beat the Muslims very badly and cause them much suffering. Sometimes the suffering was so much that some Muslims died from it. However, the Muslims continued to follow Islam.

The Makkans began a boycott of the Muslims so that the Muslims could not get any food and no one would do business with them. Things became very bad for the Muslims and the whole community was close to starvation. The Muslims never gave up on Islam and on our beloved prophet (pbuh).

The Makkans would attack our Prophet (pbuh) and be very rude to him. However, he continued to teach people about Islam. They even promised to make him the wealthiest person in Arabia and make him their king. All they wanted was for him to leave Islam. Despite this the Prophet continued to teach Islam and some years later the whole of Arabia accepted Islam.

In the Qur’an there is a story about the people of the cave. Allah made them to sleep for 300 years. Whilst they were sleeping, Allah would cause them to turn.

When someone is in a long sleep or coma, they have to be turned regularly or blood does not reach parts of the body. That part of the body gets damaged

Assalamu-alaykum, it’s so simple to take the easy way out. People are often lazy and don't want to do something that is difficult. However, we are taught to do things properly. We shouldn’t look for the easy way out but instead look for the right way of doing things. Penpal

The Prophet (pbuh) always kept trying and didn’t give up.
