 | My story: Mosque | |
Assalamu-alaykum,friends.
It was Friday night and you know what that means
don't you?
Well we all get together at the mosque from Magrib Salah until Isha. All my friends come and we can stay late because there is no school the next day.
I told
my dad that I was going early to the mosque and left home.
At the mosque we all said Salaam to our Teacher and we sat down and chatted until Salah.
Just then my dad
came and he heard us talking. He Said, “Penpal, I didn’t send you to the mosque early to waste your time. Don’t you know it’s wrong to talk about worldly things in the mosque?”
I
said “Sorry Dad” so after Salah my dad ordered us a pizza and we ate in the spare room and had a good chat with my all friends there. Penpal
 | lesson: ADAABS AND
RESPECT | |
The Masjid is a special place where Muslims go to perform their prayers,
read Qur’an, learn Hadith, Seerah, and learn about different aspects of Islam. We have to be careful not to disturb people and also to be respectful to the masjid.
Apart from humans
there are other creations of Allah such as Jinn and Angels who perform their own Zikr and worship in the mosque. We have to always respect the rules and not be a nuisance.
During the time of our Prophet (pbuh), the mosques were a dynamic place. People would discus issues and engage in different forms of worship and activities. They would not waste their
time nor did they engage in idle talk.
Often in masjids there are rooms where we can sit and talk but it is recommended that in the prayer halls that we respect the adaab (etiquettes)
of the masjid.

 | story: Blessed gathering | |
The Sahabah were the best of people after the prophets themselves. They would go to the
mosque very regularly and would participate in all acts of worship and kindness. The Sahabah are an example to us of the best Muslim community and even to this day they are held in the
highest esteem.
Once a group of Sahabah were gathered together in the Masjid when our Prophet (pbuh) was passing by. The Prophet (pbuh) stopped and asked them why they
had gathered there.
The Sahabah replied that they were gathered to remember Allah and to thank him for guiding them to Islam and for this blessing of Islam. The Prophet (pbuh)
said, “Is there nothing else except this that has caused you to gather here?”
The companions replied, ”By Allah there is nothing else apart from this that has caused us to gather
here.” The Prophet (pbuh) said, “I’m not asking you because I am accusing you of gathering for a different reason.”
The Prophet (pbuh) then further explained. “The Angel Jibrael
came to me and informed me that Allah is taking pride in you in front of the angels”.
This same incident happened at the time of Muawiyah when he came across a group of people
sitting in the masjid. He asked them what they were doing and they gave a similar answer as the group of Sahabah did.
Muawiyah then related the above incident where Allah was
proud of the Sahabah who had gathered to remember and thank Allah for his favour of Islam. This goes to show how much of a virtuous act it is to come to the masjid and remember Allah and
to be grateful for the greatest of blessings - Islam.

 | did you know | |
A recent survey in Britain suggested that 80 per cent of people will not even come in contact
with a Muslim.
This means that the only way the majority of non-Muslims will know about Islam is through the media such as TV and newspapers. We should show people the true
Islam by acting like true Muslims.

Assalamu-alaykum, its easy to say that we love the prophet (pbuh). However, if we really love
the Prophet (pbuh), we would follow his example (sunnah); follow his commands and behave just like him. If we truly loved our Prophet (pbuh), he would be a role model for us. PP
