 | My story: Insomnia | |
Assalamu-alaykum, everyone.
I couldn't get to sleep the other night. It was awful. I
tried everything but my brain wouldn't switch off.
Dad came up and said I’ll tell you a story, maybe that will help you fall asleep. He started telling me about the life of our Prophet
(pbuh) and the Sahabah. He told me about the Hijra and how the Muslims were so happy when the Prophet (pbuh) arrived in Madina safely. The Muslims loved him so much even though many
had not seen him before.
My dad then told me about when he went to Madina and how he cried so much when he had to leave Madina and come home.
After my dad
finished I was even more excited and couldn't sleep. I kept thinking how cool it would have been to meet the Prophet and live at his time. Penpal
 | lesson: Love our prophet | |
All Muslims love our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and try to follow his example.
When you love someone, you want to be like that person and do what he or she does; look like that beloved person; learn about that person; wear similar clothes to that clothes and do
whatever that person says.
Many of us love our parents so much that we want to be like them when we grow up. We have been told that we should love our Prophet (pbuh) more
than our father, more than our children and more than the whole of mankind.
The prophet (pbuh) had the best of character and everything he did was according to the Qur’an. To
show our love for the Prophet (pbuh) we must make sure that everything we do is also according to the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

 | story: Hudaybiah | |
The prophet Muhammad (pbuh) saw in a dream that he was at the Holy Ka.bah performing
Umrah with his companions. This dream took place in Madina in the sixth year after the Migration of Muslims from Makkah to Madina.
The Muslims were very excited when the news
spread of this dream. Soon, the Prophet (pbuh) and his companions began to make preparation to perform this Umrah. They were especially excited because they could worship Allah at the
holy Ka’bah. They had missed Makkah very much over all these years.
When the Muslims approached Makkah, they setup camp at a place called Hudaybiyah. The Makkans did not
want the Muslims to perform this Umrah so they began to cause trouble. They then sent delegations to speak to the Muslims. Some of these delegations did not speak politely to the Muslims
but the Muslims still dealt respectfully with them.
When Uwrah bin Mas’ud came to speak to the Muslims and find out what their intentions were, he had a chance to see the Muslim
community. He spoke to the Muslims and then went back.
He advised the Makkans to let the Muslims perform the Umrah in peace. He explained that the Muslims were on a mission
of peace and only wanted to worship Allah at this noble house (the Ka’bah). He told them about how he had seen such love and dedication to the Prophet (pbuh) that no king or ruler had
enjoyed.
He continued that when the Prophet (pbuh) spoke, they would lower their voices so that they could all hear this great man. When Muhammad (pbuh) performed Wudhu ,
the Muslims would not let the water even fall to the ground. They loved Muhammad (pbuh) so much that the Muslims would never forsake or leave the Prophet (pbuh) for anything.

Modern research has proven that honey is effective when used to treat gastric or peptic
stomach ulcers.
About 1400 years ago the Prophet (pbuh) advised the use of honey as a cure to a man who’s brother had similar stomach problems. After a few dozes he was
cured.

Assalamu-alaykum, its easy to say that we love the prophet (pbuh). However, if we really love
the Prophet (pbuh), we would follow his example (sunnah); follow his commands and behave just like him. If we truly loved our Prophet (pbuh), he would be a role model for us. PP
