 | My story: Sweet time | |
Assalamu-alaykum,
Last week mymum took us to our aunty’s house.
Our aunty has a habit of pulling our cheeks even though we are too old for that. She has no children and has no toys for us to play with.
Usually it is so boring going to her house and afterwards our mum is really cross with us.
This time it was different. We helped our aunty bake a cake. We were on our best behaviour and were being extra nice so we can do the mixing.
When we got home mum was really proud of us. She got out a packet of sweets and shared them out between us. There was one sweet left and Amina started saying, “ I’m the
youngest so I should get the extra one.”
My mum split the extra sweet and gave us half each. She said, “We should always be fair with everyone.” PP
 | lesson: Justice for All | |
Everyone these days is screaming for justice. If they have been wronged they want their
problems to be heard and things put right.
Treating people equally is an important part of Islam. It is part of our human nature that we want to make a decision in favour of someone we like. However, in Islam we are not allowed to do
this.
We have been told to treat everyone equally and anyone we deal with has the right to expect justice from us. We have to make the right decision and not be influenced by our personal
emotions.
Allah rewards a person who is just and fair with paradise so lets make sure we are always just and fair in all our dealings.

 | story: Always be Just | |
Khaybar had been a strong hold where the enemies of Islam would gather and plan their
mischief. They would send out armies from here and would cause many problems for the Muslims. Anyone who was against the Muslims would be guaranteed support from Khaybar.
Khaybar was no normal city but was actually a huge fortress which was rumoured to be impregnable by even the mightiest armies. However, the Muslims laid seige to the fort and finally a
peace agreement was decided amongst them.
The conditions included that there would be no more enmity from Khaybar and that they would donate half of their dates from their crop to the Muslims. Both parties agreed. A treaty was signed
and peace was restored.
Abdullah bin Rawaha (r) was appointed to collect the dates from Khaybar. He would estimate the date crop in Khaybar then would work out what was due to the Muslims. However, the people
of Khaybar were not happy and they complained directly to the Prophet (pbuh) about Abdullah, saying that he was over estimating the date harvest.
At the same time, they tried to bribe Abdullah to show a smaller harvest than it actually was.
Abdullah explained to them that there was no one more beloved to him than the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and he considered the people of Khaybar as the lowest of people. Even with this in
mind, he would deal with them justly and not over or under-estimate the dates that was due to the Muslims.
The People of Khaybar were impressed with this attitude of this pious Muslim. They said that the heavens and the earth are in tact because of such acts of justic

In 1924 a manuscript was uncovered which dates back to the 13th century (1210CE). This
manuscript was written by Ibn Nafis which accurately describes the blood circulation and role of the heart in pumping blood.
Prior to this it was thought that William Harvey had made this amazing discovery in the 16th century.

Assalamu-alaykum, how many times do we say, “Its not fair!” when something happens to
us? Just like we do not like it when something unfair happens to us, others don’t like it when we are unfair with them. We should treat others how we expect to be treated. PP

You must remember to be fair
To do this take special care
Make sure you are always just
Because in Islam this is a must
Be fair with your brother
Just like Penpal and Amina’s mother
You must treat everyone the same
Even if you loose your fame
