| My story: Hajj adventure | |
Assalamu-alykum, Welcome back, I had a brilliant time at my friends house yesterday. My
friend’s dad is going for Hajj this year and we all went to meet him.
He was very happy and very excited. He showed us his book about Hajj and all the things he has to do.
He showed us his ihram which is basically two pieces of cloth. He said I have to wear this during Hajj. Amina said it looked weird. I though it looked really cool. It sounded like so much fun.
My friends dad mentioned that they get to stay in tents. He said its like camping out. Not with just two or three of your friends, but with millions of them.
My friend’s dad is so
lucky. I just cant wait until its my turn to go! It sounds like a super adventure to me. PP

Every year, millions of Muslims travel to Makkah to perform Hajj. Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam
and is one of the most important duties we need to carry out.
It is the duty of every Muslim to perform the Hajj, at least once in their lifetime if he has the means to do so. Hajj is a
fardh and should be performed as soon as the chance arises.
The Hajjis travel from all over the world to do Hajj. There are people from every country and from every walk of life.
The men wear their Ihram, the two pieces of white cloth and the women wear simple plain clothes.
During Hajj, people pray to Allah and ask for forgiveness. Many people change
their lives completely after Hajj.

We all have dreams but the dreams of Prophets are Wahi or revelation. This means a
Prophet’s dream can be a command from Allah and their dreams are always true.
Prophet Ibrahim (as) had a dream in which he was sacrificing his son. When Ibrahim (as) woke
up he was really worried, especially because he loved his son Ismael so much.
Ibrahim (as) had the same dream a few times and knew that Allah was commanding him to sacrifice
his son. Ibrahim (as) loved his son so much but he would never disobey Allah.
Allah was testing Ibrahim (as) to see if he would sacrifice his son and obey Allah’s command.
Ibrahim (as) made his preparation for the sacrifice. Soon both father and son were on their way to the place of sacrifice. As they both walked, the Shaytan came to Ibrahim (as) and
reminded him how much he loved his son. Ibrahim (as) chased the Shaytan away by throwing stones at him. This happened three times.
Finally, they both arrived at the place of
sacrifice and Ibrahim (as) got ready to make the sacrifice. Allah saw that Ibrahim (as) would follow His command no matter what situation he is in. Allah sent the Angel Jibrael down from the
skies with a ram and commanded Ibrahim (as) to sacrifice the ram instead. This meant that the sacrifice was accepted by Allah and that Ibrahim (as) had passed this test.
Allah
liked the actions of Ibrahim (as) so much that Allah commanded the Muslims to do these actions as well. Hajjis throw stones at three pillars which represent the shaytan. They also sacrifice an
animal when the Hajj is completed. We still love and respect prophet Ibrahim (as) who was a great prophet of Allah.

Assalamu-alaykum, we face many tests during our lives and we too must pass these tests.
For example, when it’s time for salah, sometimes the shaytan makes us feel lazy. We must chase the shaytan away by making wudhu and reading salah. This is also a test from Allah.
