My story: Bullies

Assalamu-alaykum, friends

Amina and I were walking home after school when we saw two people were picking on a little boy.

I told Amina that I’m going to stop those boys but she wouldn't let me. She said that the boy isn’t a Muslim so leave them alone.

I told her that it doesn't matter if they are Muslims or not. Right is right and wrong is wrong. I want to do the right thing!

I went and told them to stop bullying the little boy.

Amina told my Mum about what happened and she got really worried. She said, “What if you got hurt?”

Then Dad walked in and said that I did the right thing and that he was proud of me.

I felt great, it made me feel like a super hero. Make sure you do what’s thing and treat people equally.PP

lesson: Equality

Allah teaches us in the Qur’an that He has made all people equal and the only thing that makes us different is how good we behave or how pious we are.

Allah has given all mankind, Muslims and non-Muslims, food, drink, families, wealth, fresh air to breath and many such blessings. Allah does not give these things to one people but instead gives them to people all over the world.

This equality from Allah is a lesson for us that we too must behave equally with other people. We too must treat people equally and not unjustly just because they are different.

When we study the life of the Prophet (pbuh) we see that he (pbuh) treated all people equally and fairly. He made unity amongst the Muslims of all tribes and made them into one brotherhood. He (pbuh) put equality for the whole of mankind into their hearts.

story: Justice for all

When Ali was a young lad he would spend a lot of time in the company of Muhammad (pbuh) and his family. When the Prophet (pbuh) was forty years old, he received the first five verses of the Qur’an and was given prophethood.

Ali was just a youngster and he loved the Prophet (pbuh) very much. He had seen the kind and truthful character of our Prophet (pbuh) and Ali become one of the first few people to accept Islam.

As Ali grew up, he stood by the Prophet (pbuh) and the Muslim community. He suffered a lot at the hands of the Makkans who were against Islam. When the command was given to make Hijra (migration) to Madinah, Ali also made the Hijra. Whenever the Muslims were under attack, Ali would help defend the Muslims. When the Muslims discussed things or asked him questions, he would give very sound advice. He knew a lot about Islam and he loved his deen.

Many years later, he became the leader of the Muslims. Ali gave his armour to a non-Muslim to look after but that person stole the armour. Ali was forced to take the thief to the Islamic court to get his armour back. In the court, Ali explained to the judge that the person had stolen his armour.

The Judge asked Ali to provide proof that the armour was his but Ali could not prove it. When the Judge made his decision, it was against Ali because Ali could not prove it was his armour. Ali was the leader of the Muslims yet he was unable to get his armour back. The non-Muslim who had stolen the armour was very surprised by the decision. The justice of the Muslims was for everyone and the Muslims were very fair. The court did not discriminate against him because he was not a Muslim. The fact that Ali was the Muslim leader did not affect the law either.

The thief returned the armour to Ali and also accepted Islam . The thief then changed his life and became a pious Muslim.
