fter Salah, we were ready to go but suddenly realised that the phone was missing.
I was really worried and thought someone stole it. I thought who would do such a bad thing? No Muslim could ever do such an evil action. All Muslims know that stealing is wrong.
I didn't know what to do so I told the Imam. He told us to look carefully and we found that it had fallen on the ground.
I was so relieved when we found it. It just goes to show that good Muslims never steal! Penpal
 | lesson: Accountability | |
Accountability! This is a big word which has a lot of meaning for Muslims. This means that we
have to account for everything we do or say in life.
We have to account for every second of our lives and how we spent it; for every word we say in our lives; for every action we do
throughout our lives…
There is a ‘Day of Account’, also know as the Day of Judgement when we will give account to Allah for everything we said and did. Allah will weigh our deeds
and if we did more bad deeds than good then we will be in trouble - big trouble.
Stealing is a sin which we must avoid. The golden rule is that we can’t take anything that does not
belong to us. Always remember that Allah will ask us about this on the Day of Account. May Allah make it easy for all of us on that day.

 | story: Justice prevails | |
Before the time of our Prophet (pbuh), the period was known as Jahiliyah, the period of
ignorance. During this time many evil actions would take place and the people would not respect each others rights. In fact, the tribes used to fight with each other over the smallest of things
and many innocent lives were lost through pointless battles.
The poor and weak people would suffer under the tyranny of the richer and more powerful people. There was no justice so robbery and theft was common. Historians describe this period as
the worst time in the history of Arabia. They were so misguided and their actions so evil and barbaric that the empires of Rome and Persia didn't want to rule over Arabia.
When Islam came, things changed completely around as more people became Muslim and accepted Islam as their way of life. Before they were ignorant and uneducated but when they
accepted Islam they changed their ways and became good Muslims. Education became an important way to learn about Allah and Islam.
Islam made many changes as the bad qualities of society began to disappear and there was peace and justice throughout Arabia.
Once Usamah bin Zaid (r) was asked by the people of Quraish to speak to the Prophet (pbuh) about a women who had committed theft. Our Prophet (pbuh) got up and spoke to the people. He
taught us that no one is above the law of Allah and if anyone commits a crime, such as stealing, they would not be excused because they are from a noble tribe. Not even the Prophet’s (pbuh)
own daughter would be excused from punishment if she committed such a crime.
We learn that stealing is wrong and also learn that we must practice justice. The age old practice of the rich getting away with a crime and only the poor people getting punished was also
abandoned. For Justice, no one should be treated differently because of how rich or noble they are.

An institute in Munich did some research into the Qur’an. They collected 23,000 ancient
copies of the Qur’an and compared them to see if there were any differences or errors.
They discovered from this study that the Qur’an had never been changed. Allah tells us in the Qur’an that He protects it from changes and preserves it.

Assalamu-alaykum, We all know that we have to eat halal food and only halal food. In the
same way, all our actions have to be halal as well. One of the worst ’haram actions’ is stealing so make sure we never fall into the trap of stealing anything. Muslims don't steal!

Stealing is a very big sin
Whoever steals will never win
Allah has taught us to be kind and just;
Never to steal and in Him to trust.
We will account for all our deeds
All good actions to Jannah will lead
We all know that Muslims don't steal
Stealing is Haram and that is real
